- A coastal suburb of Christchurch, New Zealand, about 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) to the east of the city centre.
- There have been two piers in New Brighton. The first pier, of wooden construction, opened on 18 January 1894 and was demolished on 12 October 1965.
- The current concrete pier was opened on 1 November 1997. It is one of the icons of Christchurch.
- New Brighton has a popular beach bringing locals, surfers and fishermen to its shores. The He Puna Taimoana hot pools near the pier also attract many guests.
- Every Saturday from 10am to 2pm there is New Brighton’s Seaside Market which sells a variety of stalls offering handmade crafts, local produce and food stalls.
